THE LIFE OF A YOUNG NATURALIST

Far Away and long ago. A history of my early life. By W.H. Hudson. London & Toronto. J. M. Dent and Sons, Ltd. New York E. P. Dutton & Co. 1918.

Quarto (21 cm x 13.5 cm), XII pp., (includes Half title, Title page, blank), 332 pp., 1 plate. Publisher's cloth binding, embossed. Copy in good condition. First edition.

Hudson wrote “Far Away and Long Ago” in his old age, in 1918, living in England. He evokes, in an autobiographical way, his youthful years in Argentina, a portrait of rural life in our country during the second half of the 19th century, with a particular focus on nature and its birds, beings that fascinated him. In 1938 it was published for the first time in Spanish.
